Yaquina Head lighthouse, just north of Newport.
Wil, Sara, Rachel and I spent a few days in sunny but windy weather at Schooner's Landing - a WorldMark we had never before visited.
Becca could not join us because she had just started
a new job as "Teacher Becca".
The water is never too cold for Rachel.
After two nights, we drove Rachel north to Tillamook to meet her friends, with whom she stayed another two nights.
On the return to Newport, we did some sight seeing.
Cape Meares is the location of the largest Sitka Spruce in Oregon,
and the shortest lighthouse in Oregon.
Back in Newport, Jacoby, Emilio, Tessa and Cassie joined us on a sandy beach.

Wil and Sara were intrigued by these mysterious sand shapes. We weren't sure how they were formed. Maybe a combination of receding water and wind. It looks like miniature Western horseman, or else Martians, are going to pop out from behind them.
I always get "big" ocean hair.
Now, that is a mass of tree limbs - on the way up from the beach to another cute, little lighthouse.
Yaquina Bay lighthouse is the oldest wooden lighthouse in Oregon still standing.
It looks just about as short as the Cape Meares lighthouse to me, but it must be just a little bit taller.
It is the only lighthouse in Oregon built with the living quarters attached. Sara loved the kitchen and wants one just like it.
Stairs to the bedrooms... and a view!
Another fine time at the Oregon coast.
